What is Non-Medical Home Care?
Non-medical home care is a service designed to help ensure that seniors get the help and support they need in the comfort of their own homes.
Non-medical home care does not involve medical or nursing services, but it does help cover many of the other physical and lifestyle needs that older adults face. There are different levels of care available, depending on the needs of the older adult and their family.
As we age, it can become more difficult to do the things we once took for granted. For many older adults, a little bit of help with driving, housekeeping, and movement is all it takes to improve their health and well being, elevate their quality of life, and empower them to remain fulfilled and independent. That’s where non-medical home care comes in. From helping out around the house, to simply providing companionship and attention, a non-medical caregiver is an incredibly useful person to have around for older adults.
Remain in the comfort and safety of their home
Non-medical home care is an effective way to make sure your loved one’s wants and needs are met. What’s more, being able to stay at home offers significant advantages. Living in a familiar location allows your loved one to know where things will be and how best to get around, which can help reduce stress and increase their safety.
Stay socially connected to friends and family
Loneliness is one of the great, invisible dangers that older adults face. Fortunately, non-medical home care makes it easier for older adults to maintain those all-important social bonds, which can help promote longevity, reduce depression, and improve their overall quality of life. Whether they come for a few hours a day or once a week, an in-home caregiver is a companion, one who is able to join your loved one to share meals, swap stories, watch TV/movies, and go on outings. Staying at home also often makes it easier for friends and family to visit, and the transportation services offered by caregivers can help get older adults to appointments, errands, and social calls with friends.
Secure, reliable transportation and a feeling of freedom.
The loss of mobility and the inability to “hit the road” whenever they choose is a common complaint from seniors in daily care. We offer driving services to help our clients make trips to the shops, the airport, doctor’s appointments, or family gatherings. Safe, secure, and reliable transportation is a wonderful benefit that we offer at a modest cost.
